Fall Retreat

I had a wonderful Sunday at the annual Fall Stitching Retreat today. I managed to work on three projects of which one was a new start. I worked on Mediterranean Mermaid © Mirabilia, And They Sinned © Examplar Dames.

And my new start Endymion © Primitive Hare. I fell in love with this design immediately and just knew I had the perfect fabric in my stash for it!!! Thank you again Michelle for the beautiful fabric from Hand dyed by Nina.  I love the movie Bright Star and will be watching it again as I stitch this piece which is based on John Keats poem to Fanny Brawne .

It was a great day with friends and 70+ stitchers in one room at a lovely golf course. And today the weather was amazing as we were able to eat lunch on the patio in the warmth of the sun. I'm sure the golfers felt rather invaded but thats life. I look forward to the Spring Fling in April. I'm off to stitch some more and of course a fresh cup of tea!!! Oh and here is Bluebeard's Princess in all her glory hanging on her chosen wall......

And remember 10/19-21 is IHSW ...so ramble on over and sign up ....

PS......OMG  is all I can say!!!!! Nora has outdone herself with this month's release called Sleeping Princess © Mirabilia need I say that she is going to the top of my start pile!!!!!!! Thank you Nora!!!!!!  I have always loved Princess and the Pea................

Progress pics and lots more....

First let me thank  JenniD of Tapestry Moon and  The Maiden from Maiden.Mother .Crone for nominating me for The Liebster Blog Award!!!!!!
Here are all the details about the Liebster Blog award:

Liebster is a German word, meaning favorite, dearest or beloved, and the Liebster is awarded by bloggers to other, newer bloggers who have fewer than 200 followers, to spread the word and help the new(er)bies gain wider recognition. The award comes with four conditions that each recipient must satisfy when accepting:

1. Choose five up-and-coming blogs (with fewer than 200 followers) to award the Liebster to.
2. Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.
3. Post the award on your blog. List the bloggers you are giving the award to with links to their sites. Leave comments on their blogs so they know about the award.
4. Share five random facts about yourself that people don't know about you.

I am most honored by this and simply will nominate the blogs in my sidebar since those are my most favorite........now 5 random facts.....

1. I have more stash then I can ever finish....
2. I won't repeat won't count my WIP's.........(sorry Maiden)
3. I am developing a fondness for mermaids
4. I love tea and will drink it cold....
5. I really want to start Blooming Bride (she's all kitted up!)

Well I satisfied 3 of the 4 rules  ......

Now on to pictures.....

First up is a pillow for a dollhouse that my cousin asked me to do about 2 years ago but I was waiting for inspiration.......and it finally came in the form of crowns!!! The dollhouse is for a second cousin of mine....the dollhouse has been lovingly crafted by my cousin her aunt since birth... I think it's perfect!!!!! Oh and the finishing was done by a dear friend of mine!!!!

Edited to add this picture to show actual size of Crown Dollhouse pillow

Now onto my Bluebeard's Princess © Mirabilia update......I am still in love with her.....

Here are pics of my other two starts recently.... first is Gathering Eggs © Mirabilia .Amazingly I had this from the original magazine and it was packed away and a dear stitching friend had stitched her and every time I saw her I wanted to stitch her ....And even more amazingly I found the magazine immediately.....and then the perfect fabric......32ct Opalescent Raw linen....not much done since a mermaid has been monopolizing my time...

Next is Silver Moon Tea © Mirabilia. Which I posted about when she was first released...I am toying with the idea of putting my initials and the year where the "earl grey "goes..... a friend at my stitching group did that and I really liked it....I shall see once I'm up to that point...I have a ways to go.....again a mermaid refuses to be put down.....
She is also on 32ct Opalescent raw linen..... It may be my new favorite fabric....

And my next start is all kitted up and guess what it's a Mirabilia .........Blooming Bride which I have always wanted to stitch but never really found the "perfect" fabric......well now I have! What could be more perfect than Huntress by PTPlus fabric.......it screams Blooming Bride....... I am trying to resist......
Thanks for reading so far and for visiting my blog!!!!!

IHSW and a decision......

Well here I am posting for IHSW a day late and I didn't take a pre picture.....Well I was going to work on Fairy Moon but a mermaid caught me and has not let me go....here is Bluebeard's Princess © Mirabilia whom I affectionately call Mira...........

I adored stitching her blue hair as that is what attracted me to her in the first moment I saw her!!! the fabric is 32ct Crystal Lagoon from PTPlus fabric.

Now on to my decision... drum roll please.......

I am making this a Mirabilia  year!!!! Of course there will be my Wipocalpyse list and I will focus on one HAED......Captive by Marta Dahlig....
I am off for tea and Mira after working today...........

January IHSW

Hello all.....this month's IHSW was a bit of a bust for me and maybe I should not have signed up but I did....Have I mentioned that I abhor the word "should" it just implies regret to me and I honestly don't have any. I did work Friday and Saturday so I had grand plans of stitching when I got home but the only thing I did was fall sound asleep..too funny I know.....and that's with caffeine.

Since I finished the mermaids recently I thought what can I stitch then I found this gorgeous fabric at my LNS called Witches Brew and my love of Rose pixie © Mirabilia took hold.......so I started her on Thursday technically not IHSW
Rose pixie © Mirabilia (pre pic)

and here is the post picture with what I had accomplished by last night ......

I truly think I have Mermaid fever.....is that even possible .....I think it must be simply because Bluebeards Princess © Mirabilia sang her song and I have answered with a start as of tonight! She is just so pretty and I have the chart and fabric and basic threads so I say why wait! But to tell you an honesty it is not helping my WIPocalypse list at all!
I keep re-editing this but I must add that I had the most lovely visit with Kathy  . It's so great meeting fellow stitchers and being able to share our addiction love of counted cross stitch! We started with lunch and then it was off to Stitcher's Paradise for stitching and stash enhancement !!! The wonderful ladies I stitch with each Wednesday had heard Kathy was coming so we were a group of 5 and it was such a fabulous time.....a bit like we'd all known each other forever! Well I'm off to the call of the Mermaid Princess...
