First finish.....

Well I've been meaning to sit down and write this post for at least 2 days now but have been feeling really tired and I have found that I can't sit for long periods of time so my computer time is limited. I went to stitching group last wednesday and had great fun but it truly wore me out. Who would of thought a little surgery would do that LOL. Margaret my dear I am ever so grateful that you drove me. We have such a great group of stitchers that I wouldn't have missed it another week!!!!! Which reminds me to thank all of you that have wished me well.... I have learned to pace myself and am resting lots and lots!!!

I have kept up with my blog reading though......I'd first like to post a long overdue picture of my puppy Storm who is taking very good care of me She is so very gentle with me! I truly think she knows I'm not feeling up to snuff! She is very protective these days......

But now onto the stitching stuff!!!! I have had my first 2008 finish!!!! It's a small piece that I've done for my 2nd cousin who just had a baby girl!!!! I wonder where the time has gone. She is very special to me since about the time of my sister's passing! We connected then and proceeded to spend 1 weekend a year together usually shopping and doing fun stuff in NYC! So this is for her and her baby . It was a quick stitch for me considering it took about 14 days including the time of my surgery. It is Bless Birth Sampler by Sisters and Best Friends!!! I added the moon charm that is on the "o" of the word moon. The other charms came with the chart. I really do love it and am taking it soon to be framed and then I can ship it on it's way to them.

I am grateful for the small things in life.....

I'm here

I want to thank everyone for their good wishes and good thoughts!!!! I am home from the hospital and am now postop! The experience was definitely positive except for the 24 hours post anesthesia vomiting I had! I know TMI but it was not fun especially with an incision and all. But the care I received was exceptional!!! I am now taking it easy and wondering where my stitching mojo went......I haven't been able to stitch but I do have hopes for today!!! Margaret from my stitching wednesdays has stopped by to visit with me and brought me a new book to read!!! It's Outlander by Diana Gabaldon and with the little I've read I can say I am loving it!!!! I am trying to take it easy but it's hard which I didn't think would be a problem. But of course the 1st day home I had to do the laundry......Big Mistake! I spent the next day sore and exhausted. I'm just not used to not being able to do what I want when I want. And my niece and her friends had been here and left the day of my surgery so I had to catch up with the laundry. What was I thinking???? I had loads of fun with her and her friends and actually went out with them one night till about 3 am !!! It was a blast and we visited as many casinos/clubs as we could and it felt great!!!!!! But you know you older when you are out to the clubs with your niece and she's drinking and your not! But in my defense I was having surgery in a few days!!!! It was a great distraction for her to be here! Great timing to get my mind off of the upcoming surgery!!!! Apparently I'm a hugger since upon arrival to my room from the recovery room I had to hug everyone who visited me!!! I guess it was better than the alternative. And the Pilates really helped with my moving around I had no trouble with getting in and out of bed but was thankful that my surgeon put me on bedrest for the first day.....

I'm off to get more coffee and pick up my stitching so wish me luck!!!! Hopefully next post will be a stitchy one!!!!I started a new project for my 2nd cousin who just had a baby girl!!!!!She is precious!!!! I'll definitely post a picture next time!!! !

I am grateful to be home and for my loving husband..............

Year End

I've thought a lot about this post and am finally sitting down long enough to write! I've had a productive year as you can see in my sidebar. And I finished two of them this past week.....Here is Lady Lazarus by MonsterBubbles done on PTPlus 32ct Cabernet Linen... I think the dark curliques are actually snails. What do you think??? And here is Fairy Celebration by PR done on PTplus 32ct Blue Icon linen.... I did her in mirror image so that I can hang them both together. To refresh your memories here is Fairy celebration in pinks.......I plan to do the same with Fairy Celebration 2 in purples and not sure of the other color yet. Maybe greens..... I added the beads to the corners and her wand! I also picked up Daisy by Nora Corbett from my framer today..the picture isn't great but the frame is a silvertone...I truly think my niece will absolutely love her!!! I finished her in time to enter her into the Silkweaver yearly contest!!!! She is done on a Silkweaver Solo 32ct Lugana.
I usually don't do goals but I have two this year.....
1. Finish Sleeping Beauty
2. Finish Mothers Arms

Both of which you can see in my sidebar. And these are yearlong goals.....

I want to also say that I feel truly blessed to have made so many new friends through blogging. Each and everyone of you has enriched my life as well as inspired me to stitch and create!!! I am honored to call you friends!!!!! Thank you all!

And I would be remiss if I don't mention the friends I have made at my stitching group at Stitcher's Paradise! They welcomed me with open arms and made me a part of the group! I have been inspired and awed by each and every one of them!!! I only joined them a short while ago but already feel lifelong friendships are there!!! I
so look forward to my wednesdays at the shop and today since I was off I joined the saturday group! This group is an essential part of my life!!!!

On another note.....I hesitated writing this but then I thought you are my friends. I will be having surgery on Jan 8th. It has been planned for a long time and I am looking forward to the surgery since my fibroids are growing to the point where they are causing me back pain and just zapping my energy. So I am having the surgery and I love my surgeon!!!! So I will be in the hospital for two days and then home for 6 weeks. And all I can think of is all the uninterrupted stitching time!!!! So please keep me in your thoughts.

Oh and do we all have our January 1st start ready to go???? I am starting my first Shepard's Bush piece. Let me know what you have planned!
I'm off to get a cup of Earl Gray tea and stitch on Be Merry and Bright which is almost done I might add!!!!

I am grateful for both my online and stitching group friends.....
