My Ideal tree!

First I want to say Thank you for all of the well wishes and good thoughts for my upcoming surgery!!! Thank you all so very much! This truly is a wonderful community which I am blessed to be a part of !!!!! My surgery is scheduled for this tuesday at 7am (PST). I am not feeling so nervous about it at the moment which is a good thing I guess! Part of the reason maybe because my niece and two of her friends are visiting and we are just having fun!!! Although tonight I must admit that I am feeling my age! They invited me out to the "clubs" with them but all I truly wanted to do was to come home and get into my pj's and stitch.......does that make me old???? LOL. Oh and I want to add that my niece just loves Daisy!!! She noticed the hand dyed material right away and was speechless!!!!! I am absolutely thrilled that she had the reaction that she did!!!!!!

Today I took down our real Christmas tree. It is always so sad to take the tree down but I really wanted to do it before the surgery as I need to rest and recover afterwards. And the tree was looking sad and so dry that I had no choice. But all is done with the help of my niece. But I found my ideal tree a Pink one! DH thinks I'm crazy but I truly want an all pink Christmas tree! Here it is .....I am hoping for next Christmas and the cleanup will be so much easier!!! What do think....nice isn't it!!!!!!
!
I am grateful for so much ....not really sure where to begin.....

Year End

I've thought a lot about this post and am finally sitting down long enough to write! I've had a productive year as you can see in my sidebar. And I finished two of them this past week.....Here is Lady Lazarus by MonsterBubbles done on PTPlus 32ct Cabernet Linen... I think the dark curliques are actually snails. What do you think??? And here is Fairy Celebration by PR done on PTplus 32ct Blue Icon linen.... I did her in mirror image so that I can hang them both together. To refresh your memories here is Fairy celebration in pinks.......I plan to do the same with Fairy Celebration 2 in purples and not sure of the other color yet. Maybe greens..... I added the beads to the corners and her wand! I also picked up Daisy by Nora Corbett from my framer today..the picture isn't great but the frame is a silvertone...I truly think my niece will absolutely love her!!! I finished her in time to enter her into the Silkweaver yearly contest!!!! She is done on a Silkweaver Solo 32ct Lugana.
I usually don't do goals but I have two this year.....
1. Finish Sleeping Beauty
2. Finish Mothers Arms

Both of which you can see in my sidebar. And these are yearlong goals.....

I want to also say that I feel truly blessed to have made so many new friends through blogging. Each and everyone of you has enriched my life as well as inspired me to stitch and create!!! I am honored to call you friends!!!!! Thank you all!

And I would be remiss if I don't mention the friends I have made at my stitching group at Stitcher's Paradise! They welcomed me with open arms and made me a part of the group! I have been inspired and awed by each and every one of them!!! I only joined them a short while ago but already feel lifelong friendships are there!!! I
so look forward to my wednesdays at the shop and today since I was off I joined the saturday group! This group is an essential part of my life!!!!

On another note.....I hesitated writing this but then I thought you are my friends. I will be having surgery on Jan 8th. It has been planned for a long time and I am looking forward to the surgery since my fibroids are growing to the point where they are causing me back pain and just zapping my energy. So I am having the surgery and I love my surgeon!!!! So I will be in the hospital for two days and then home for 6 weeks. And all I can think of is all the uninterrupted stitching time!!!! So please keep me in your thoughts.

Oh and do we all have our January 1st start ready to go???? I am starting my first Shepard's Bush piece. Let me know what you have planned!
I'm off to get a cup of Earl Gray tea and stitch on Be Merry and Bright which is almost done I might add!!!!

I am grateful for both my online and stitching group friends.....

A Finish

It seems like Christmas rolls around faster and faster every year! In addition I'm working what seems like nonstop through Christmas and New Years......there is a reason but I know I didn't schedule myself that way but I must remind myself that it's just a "wishlist". I keep saying to myself that I will get through it and then my niece is visiting from New York for 4 days!!!!! She is bringing 2 friends along and I am off the whole time !!!!!!! I am thrilled about her visit since this year we aren't going to New York for Christmas. Our tree is up and I just have a few stocking stuffers to get and then the wrapping and I am done! Here's a picture of our tree...

And I am thrilled to report that I have finished Daisy in just a month!!!!! Which is really good since I got her to the framer's in time to have her framed for my niece when she visits!!!!! Here she is and another The fabric is lighter and brighter IRL. It's a Silkweaver Solo and I added 2 crystal beads to her hands!!!! I really loved working on her. I picked a silvertone frame and no matting. I'll be sure to take a picture when I pick her up from the shop!
I will post again before Christmas and until then everyone be safe and get some well needed rest!!!!
I am grateful for the goodness in my life.........

For Michelle (Cozy egg) a non stitchy post...

I wish I had more stitching to post but I've been focusing on finishing daisy for my nieces visit in January and I'm happy to say she is almost done!!! With any luck and me getting off the computer she will be done as well as the tree trimmed and the food made for my stitching groups holiday party!!! We did get our tree on wednesday and it's been out in the backyard till we get a chance to trim it right. Dear hubby believes it will stay fresher that way considering it's been freezing here the past few weeks.....he may be right.

But on to the true reason for this post. Michelle has said on her blog that she loves Chihuly glass and we here in Las Vegas have a wonderful display at the Bellagio hotel!!!! And I have promised Michelle this post for quite some time....First the ceiling of the Bellagio I am always in awe of it.... and and and There is one more of a standalone piece in one of the bars that is stunning But unfortunately my picture doesn't do it justice!!! That's my Chihuly glass post!!! I hope you enjoyed it and thanks for visiting!!!
I am grateful for the beauty in my life.....

A Lazy Sunday

There are so many things I should be doing.....there's that pesky word again-should- I truly hate it since it implies regret. So I'm just having a lazy sunday of sleeping in and stitching on Daisy. I'll have an updated picture soon! I've been stitching very consistently on her even after working the last 2 days. She is so much fun!!!!!

And I must confess I've been bad....yes I ordered the new PR design from Italy along with the Venus threads. Do you want to see a picture or 2 or 3?? Here goes.... and you can see the beautiful scissor fob that Laura sent along as a gift! and another and the last Aren't the Venus threads just beautiful!!! Well I'm off to stitch and finish watching Tin Man on the Sci-Fi channel. So far a perfect sunday! Hubby is at work and I have the house to myself. And then I'll think of Christmas shopping this week some time. I'm not planning a lot this year. We're staying put so far and I have no plans to visit NY for the holidays this year.
I am grateful for days off and stitching time.....

Where to begin....

This posting has been running around in my head for several days and only now did I find the time to sit down and write it!!!! My MIL is still here so between work and company my blog and such has suffered. We are having fun though! Last week we saw Tony Bennett and he was fabulous! And then last night we saw Andrea Bocelli!!! I really had high expectations but was a wee bit disappointed in the show! He had guests and did mostly opera till the last two songs. My hubby loved it and believe me his voice was spectacular but I would have preferred his other works more.....I may still get the new cd. I am really enjoying her visit and I know that hubby is as well being the Italian boy that he is!!!! They leave on tuesday and will be missed!!!!

Now on to what has been running around in my head.....yes my head is at times a strange and dark sometimes magical place but for todays purpose it is filled with gratitude and sheer joy!!!! First to Karen of Gathering Thoughts thank you so very much!!!! She RAK'd me with selections off of my wishlist! I am in awe! Here is what she sent.... well it seems that blogger doesn't want to play today. She sent me a book of poems by e.e.cummings and Spring Fairy Spirit by PR designs!!!!! I really wanted to post a picture as well as a picture of the Pecan Pie I made for Thanksgiving. I will try again at the end to post a picture..... thank you so very much Karen! An e-mail is coming your way!!!

Next I had a grand adventure last saturday with Margaret of Stitch or No Stitch!!! We met up with Deb of Lavendar Rose Ramblings at Stitcher's Paradise!!!! What fun we had!!! Deb is just like I imagined her...funny, smart and totally fabulous!!!!! We talked and talked and talked some more! They helped me pick out fabric for my January 1st start! We popped over to Starbucks at B&N bookstore and had a bite to eat and talked like old friends!!!! It was truly amazing to meet Deb!!!! And in May are planning a stitch-in at my house!!!!! Since that's the one thing we didn't get a chance to do while she was visiting!!!! And the joy on her face when talking about her new grandson was sheer bliss!!!

Well blogger still doesn't want to play so the pictures will wait till next post...I even had a picture of my progress on Daisy.

I am thankful for the friends in my life and the joy they bring me....

Happy Thanksgiving

I have been meaning to sit down and write for days now! I've been working the past few days actually 4 out of 5 days all 12 hours and have been just plain tired. My MIL is visiting and I do love her so that is fun. And her BF loves to cook so I come home to a cooked meal at the end of the day....I'm not complaining although it does sound like I am ...now that I re-read that last line. I so much more enjoy having my MIL rather than my mother. But that's another whole story...... She encourages my stitching and I did get to go to SP stitching group this morning ! I find that stitching group is so very important to my week!

I did have another start on sunday....but with a reason! I started Daisy by Nora Corbett for my niece who is visiting in January and with any luck I will have it done and framed by then! Here is a picture of the chart I am doing her on a Silkweaver solo that I picked up recently..a pale blue with gold. As soon as I have some progress to show I will post a picture. I do love working on these pixies.
I want to wish everyone a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving!!!!!! May we all be thankful for the joy in our lives!!!!!!
I am thankful for my wednesday stitching group......
