I've been tagged.........

I've been tagged by Jamie ! That means I have to share with you six weird things about myself.... here they are and hubby was more than happy to help..... almost too eager.....
1. I like a big teacup! So my fist has to fit inside the cup before I buy them....this goes for coffee cups as well.
2. Cabinet doors have to be closed at all times (hubby likes to leave them opened...........)
3. The peanut butter in the jar must be even all the way around!
4. I don't like talking to strangers on the phone and always check caller ID before picking up the phone!
5. The teabag, sugar and spoon must be in the cup/mug before the water touches the cup/mug to make the tea oh and the sugar and spoon must be in the coffee cup/mug before as well!
6. 13 is my favorite and lucky number

Well there it is and as for today I took a sick day and stayed in bed most of the day just taking care of me and trying to get rid of this nasty migraine...the last set of pills and icepack seems to have worked! I'm comtemplating another day tomorrow...I'll see later on. I'm going to try and stitch for a little while and have a big oversized cup of tea now LOL! And thanks to Jamie for my new calendar in my sidebar which I just love! My old one was cool but this one is even better!

I am grateful for a day at home doing nothing but resting....

My Surprise

Hi all...sorry this is so very late but I worked today and am just unwinding from a trying day. And without much further ado.....my surprise no wait. I guess it was my surprise but it was really for dear hubby. It was an Art Garfunkel concert..... I see some of you going who???? He was big in the 60's part of Simon & Garfunkel...ahhh. Now don't get me wrong I like a good concert but as I said to hubby as we waited to valet the car (in Vegas you always valet the car right dear brother) "just please admit this is really for you my dear? I mean the minute you heard he was appearing you got the tickets......made it a surprise for me....you have to get the day off....but really be honest it's for you" His response "no of course not it's for you". Me " when's the last time I listened to Art Garfunkel???? I mean U2, REM, Dave Matthews, Cowboy Junkies okay maybe Enya threw ya...." and then he said "okay I really wanted to see him" Me "was that so hard" LOL. The show was actually good alot of his standards and his voice has held. I did enjoy it. The only weird part was when he sang "Cecelia" with his 12 year old son.....who was dressed in hot pink, white sequin jacket and diamond ring. But maybe I'm being too picky. If you don't know the words to Cecelia check them out before you think I'm being harsh. We went out to a really nice dinner...so it was a great date night for us! So there you have it my surprise. And yes we have tickets to Phantom of The Opera later this month!!!

My fabrics came from the FOTM club as well as the limited edition hand dyeds I managed to sneak in on. I'll try and post tomorrow. They really are so pretty. It's going to be a treat to get the monthly fabrics. I really want to make some progress on the Miraculous Birth Sampler this week. And will try and post on Thursday! Well I'm seeing double so I'm off......

I am grateful to have tomorrow off and that Joann's has DMC floss on sale.....6 for .96cents limit 30skeins. (I'm going) LOL

Tonight

I am supposed to be out and about by now... and I will soon after this posting! Tonight is hubby's big surprise! The one that I had to trade a day at work for to get off today..... and I still haven't figured it out! So unlike me! I only know it's a show of sorts. And of course hubby is pleased with himself. I only wish I felt better ..... since wednesday night I've had some sort of stomache thing going on that I can't shake. I won't bore you with the nasty details here. I've laid on the couch napping all day yesterday and sipped tea in between. Not a stitch was stitched..........but I do feel better today. I'm going to tempt fate with some coffee and then do some errands and I think the fresh air will be good for me. The nausea has subsided and I'm hoping it's a 24 hour thing and it's time is up. Well this outing will be the test for tonight. And I'll let you all know what said surprise was.....not too anxious...........

Merry Christmas

I just want to start by saying thanks to Jymisgurl ,Jamie ,Karen ,Duncan and Vonna for all of their kind words of support about my last post about my friendship troubles. I'm tired and past it and it seems she won't see any side but her own . I've decided to do nothing till after the holidays when I've had some rest and perspective. Even then I'm not sure it can be mended or that I want to mend it...too much hurt has happened already and the trust is gone and I'm just plain angry. It's sad really when you think about it. But enough of that!

Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!! Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!! Merry Christmas!!!!!! The good news is that DH is completely well!!! It was a reaction to the new medicine which happens in like 1-2% of the population....I always knew he was special... So we are going to NY. It'll be a whirlwind but I am so looking forward to it. I miss my family and am so looking forward to seeing them! I am packing and wrapping a few presents that stay here today. Then work tomorrow and I've already put in to get out early if at all possible. And to the airport....I'm still hoping to see Santa from the plane window....yes I do believe!!! So this may be the last post till I get home on friday night unless I can sneak one in but that's doubtful....and DH still won't say what wednesday night in the city surprise is.....I'm not great at surprises never was...must be a childhood thing. Again everyone have a wonderfully Merry Christmas and may Santa fulfill all of your dreams!!!!

A few thoughts...

Just a quick post before I really do go downstairs to stitch....I'm pretty sure a friendship of mine has ended and it makes me sad but not really. That may not make any sense but it does in my head.......this "friend" said a really rude thing to my husband and never really apologized for it, kind of just said "I didn't mean it that way". This was a few months ago and its been weighing on me and she just doesn't get it or want to get it. And as of late has been acting more like my mother (I already have a mother thank you) than a friend and I really don't need that either.....Is that as clear as mud now....Not a fun thing to write about at Christmas time but I guess I needed to vent.

This week has been a bit busy with trying to get ready for the NY trip. DH is sick, we have been to 2 doctors....it is either a really bad stomach flu or a reaction to a new stomach medicine. He feels better today but the 2nd doc did bloodwork just to be sure and switched the meds around. They both feel he'll be able to fly!!! Just lots of rest and fluids and TLC! Can I say I'm tired.....while he rested this afternoon before the doctors I managed a visit to my LNS......yes I know nobody is really surprised. I picked up two charts and a bit of hand dyed fabric. I'll post pictures after I return from NY. Tonight it's laundry and stitching! And oh we never did get a tree not even a table top one. I went to Target but didn't like their selection. If I'm ahead of schedule on saturday I may go to the plant store and see what they have to offer. If I get anything I'll post a picture. I plan on wrapping presents and packing on saturday so I can just pop home on sunday after work and change and such and we can head to the airport!!!! I am so homesick right now that it'll be good to be home and see everyone!

I am grateful to be able to fly home for Christmas with my husband and be with our families!
