Here I am again

I woke up inspired this morning after a good sleep and yes finally stitching last night! I took a quick picture of Cinderella Sampler so it's not the best! So sorry about the shadow........but it was a quick pic before I put it back on the Qsnaps.... It is almost done! I did more after I took the picture! When I told DH that I was going to personalize it as a wedding sampler for us he said and I quote "don't make me cry" . Yes I married a mush and I love him! I am now more determined than ever to complete it and soon!
I was also able to find the design that my dear niece picked All in a Heart by Miss Crescent's Crown... She started in the center and is crossing each "x" as she goes since it done with overdyed Crescent Colors! And it only has 4 colors as well. A perfect first design!
I'm sure everyone has seen these as well but here they go..the new Nora Corbett Pixies.... Lily of the Valley and Lilac. I really thought there were only supposed to be 6 of these. I have lost count but I do love them! And I may have posted them already.......
I am grateful for my dear sweet husband........

May your needle fly through your fabric.........

The best husband........

Once again time just slipped by. I want to say thank you to all for the wonderful comments about the state of my blog. I am finally happy with it and even added a few more things like the calendar and blogoversary both of which I saw on Sally's blog. thank you Sally!

Now on to the explanation of the title of this entry.....I have decided to start a second HAED design and wanted all new floss for it. As we all know Walmart is discontinuing their DMC and has it for 10 cents a skein. My wonderful hubby came along to not 1 not 2 but 3 Walmarts and helped me gather the colors I needed as well as quite a few others....This all happened yesterday. They didn't have them all so I completed my list at Jo-Ann's where they were 4/$1. He is a keeper and was having fun helping me! He really got into the hunt! So far as to separate the skeins at the register since they were insistent on scanning each one individually. He even went through the basket and put colors aside to check with me as to whether I needed those and was thrilled when he found a color I needed! At the second they were still in the carousels and he diligently read out the colors from my list so I could gather them up! When the 3rd store didn't have them he was genuinely disappointed! I do love him so! I know you want pictures of the 2 HAED's so here goes Not the best pictures....the one on the left is Pumpkin Spice by Stacey Tippin and I just adore pumpkins in any form so I had to have it and naturally can't wait to start her. So tonight's the night right after sorting and bagging the floss. I have started Fairy Tea Party it's not much but here's a picture... I have a few more starts as well. If you recall I did PR's Fairy Celebration in pinks and am now doing it in blues but facing the other way so that I can put them up facing each other. They will be framed the same! I have similar plans for Fairy Celebration 2. Here is the blue... And to compare the two here is the pink one...And I am so thrilled to have completed the first page of Cirque des Circles....

I always get the e-mails from Silkweaver for their solos but always miss out on them but last week I was on the computer when it arrived and still missed the first one I wanted but managed to get 3 others... they are so soft and pretty! That's it for now and I promise to post again sooner. Oh and I changed my haircolor up a bit....It's still blonde but she added a full head of red lowlights so it's very strawberry blonde. I love it!!!

I am grateful for my stitching and stash and the joy it brings me and of course dear hubby...........

Pictures, pictures and more pictures!!!!

I meant to write this yesterday but in the rush of things it just got away from me and I tend to ramble so it would of been too rushed! Yesterday was my birthday and I had such a wonderful day!!!! But first let me say Happy Birthday to Michelle of Cozy Egg who happens to share my birthday!!!! How cool is that!!! My day started off a bit busy but then my niece and I went out without my brother since he had some work to catch up on....It was so nice to just have a day with her!!! First we went to get my eyebrows groomed then it was time to pick up her birthday present and some other pieces at the frame shop. So without anymore wordiness here are the new framed pieces! Fern by Nora Corbett and my niece was speechless ...just the reaction I wanted!!!! Next is Fairy Celebration by Passione Ricamo and Alphabet Sampler And lastly Sweet Sweet Babe by SamSarah Designs which is for hubby's friend back east Then we went to SP and showed the ladies in my stitching group the framed pieces (sorry I missed you Margaret ) and from there it was a unique bookstore called Dead Poet's Books. It is an eclectic used bookstore that we could have spent hours in and almost did. Then tonight it was to the MGM Grand to see KA a cirque show which was good but a bit confusing although the production was spectacular!!! And then dinner at Wolfgang Pucks Bar and Grill!! I had the shrimp risotto that was unbelievable!! I have to say it was a good day and I even fit a swim in!!! But poor hubby had no idea what to get for me and was stressing so I told him something useless and girly!!! But still I could see he was lost....so while at SP I picked out a few things since he had been in there that day before and left empty handed and had given the owner his cell # just in case she thought of anything.......here are my new Ginghers, needleminder and a chart I fell in love with... The threads for the chart are on order as I need 9-10 skeins. A girl can never have too many scissors.... I adore anything leopard print!!! I had so much fun and what made it even more special was having my brother and niece here. Today is another full day starting with Pilates at 8am so I better get to bed.....I really rambled on this time .......
I am grateful for birthday celebrations..............

It's late

I had a wonderfully intense Pilates workout this am and signed up for an additional session tomorrow for a total of 3 this week! My leg muscles are still talking to me. It was so good! And it's late or early depending on how you look at it..... and I'm off to bed in a little bit. Today was a wild ride with mom but in the end oh well.... I made a nice dinner of chicken and dumplings which we all thoroughly enjoyed and had a quiet night at home. Last night (sunday) we had fun at one of the local casinos and she and hubby won a little bit of money at the blackjack table, I just watched. So tomorrow we'll probably go to the Strip with it being her last night and all. I keep forgetting that she's 81..... our relationship has been stressful and rocky for as long as I can remember. Which is unfortunate but a fact of my life. Long story short she was very connected to my sister that passed away and I am the daughter that is still here.....there is no easy way to write that last statement....I have accepted the fact. Been through years of therapy and also know that she went through an impossible loss as well. But we all lost a valuable person and I still feel my sister's loss daily....a hole in my heart springs to mind....Well enough of that. She leaves on wednesday afternoon and then I have till the end of May till my dear MIL visits! I plan to stitch by the pool tomorrow..... it's been too cold to go in but hopefully it will warm up...mom hasn't been able to swim yet so we hope she can tomorrow or wednesday before she leaves. Let me leave you with a picture of hubby doing laps which was taken when my brother and niece were here....

Edited: I am so grateful for our pool..........

Pictures finally

I know this is long overdue but everday just seems to get away from me. But not today!!!! I took pictures and posted them to my webshots album and now here! There are also pictures of my other stash there as well....So for the first picture my february FOTM club PTPlus fabric It's not a great shot so here are a few more..... and another... I absolutely love them!!!!! I also mentioned that I was going to do the Mdesign letters for me and hubby or is it hubby and I? I also want to do them as belated very belated wedding gifts for my best woman and bridesmaids for possible Christmas gifts.....so if any of you are reading this be surprised! Okay! The letters and I picked out the fabric for I want to use for our letters it's PTPlus Davinci with Gathering Threads silk in blue violet!!! The thread isn't that dark IRL....Here's that picture I may be pushing it with pictures but I have one more.....I haven't posted one of our dear Storm in quite a while and she's been so cute lately so here goes .

I did get my hair done on tuesday at the new salon...same hairdresser. It's a long story and I'm not good at change....I love the new place it reminds me of a salon in Soho NYC !!! So I felt right at home! My hair came out really great too....new color product and it has a shine which is hard to attain with color treated blonde hair. I also got blonde and red highlights and a new cut....a bob with angles and movement which will grow well since I want my length back. But I really like it so I just may keep it this length! I'll see...I styled it myself tonight before going out for dinner with friends and it was easier than its been in a while.... a big plus!!!! I took a picture but I didn't upload it yet so I'll do that another day. I did upload the picture and put it in my sidebar....I'm not fond of it but it's there.....I think I covered most of what I promised so I'll end here and say goodnight.

I am grateful for sleeping better lately.......

A 5 things tag.....

I've been tagged by Karen. Here are the rules, as she explains them in her blog.
Five Questions.. and Five Things..
For the first part, 5 Questions - my dear readers can ask me five questions--either in comments or feel free to email them if you'd prefer. I'll answer them in the blog as soon as time allows.

For the second, Five Things About Me:Here are the rules:1. Get tagged.2. List five things that have not been revealed on your blog.3. Tag five others.
So here goes...Five things about me I haven't revealed in my blog.

1. I love spinach. I know weird again....
2. Hubby and I met on a blind date almost 10 years ago. We were both rather hesitant but our families knew each other so we went. He took me to his uncle's restaurant on L.I. for dinner. I knew the uncle. So it was a little more comfortable it being a blind date and all. And are we ever happy we did !!!
3. I ran the N.Y.C. Marathon in 1998.
4. I am a third child . I was the baby of the family and loved it until my mother had a "change of life" baby making me the third of 4 children.
5. Hubby gave me two engagement rings....his choice! I picked the first one which he never liked a pink kunzite stone. And so before our wedding he gave me the second one a blue topaz custom design which he adores!!!! He says it sparkles......the kunzite ring doesn't!

So there you go! Now to tag 5 people.... Vonna Katica Lizzy Deanne Jymisgurl
I await your questions......and promise to answer as best I can....

I am grateful for quiet nights......

It's been way too long...

I tried posting this once and blogger didn't cooperate....it's probably floating somewhere so here goes, maybe it'll be better this time....
I looked at the date of my last post and can hardly believe it's been 10 days......it's not like I haven't been around because I have! I've been reading and keeping up but somehow time seems to just get eaten up......I can't explain it! Let me start with the Superbowl party which was fun, my sauce and brownies were a hit! I didn't think the commercials were anything special this year and am glad the Colts won.... Now I seem to be getting sick...scratchy throat no fever though. So I've been drinking lots of tea and juice and soup and today's a pajama day! I love pajama days!!!! And yesterday the census was down at work so I was able to leave 2 hours early and hubby made me my favorite soup and a big cup of tea when I got home and took care of me!!!! I stayed under the covers a while till I felt a bit better. Not sure if I should visit the docs tomorrow or wait...I'll see how tonight goes. Let's see the rest of the week....I had a bad migraine on thursday but took my medicine (with a spoon full of sugar LOL) and it eased up so I went to Pilates class were she promptly said you look like s**t... oh thank you so much! LOL But she was able to tailor my workout with exercises to help my migraine and I did feel better! She was amazed I even showed up! I won't let a migraine run my life any longer! I just can't.... She also gave me some at home/work exercises to do to help with my migraines.

Oh and once I started feeling better I stitched and I stitched..........how long you ask? I looked up and it was 4am.....I know not good for my sore thought but oh so good for my peace of mind and confidence. I was at the point in MBS where the specialty stitches were starting ...... I did the first one!!!!! The Eyelet Variation....and it was so cool! Not as hard as I had built it up to be just a matter of following the diagram and the numbers. The next one is The Twisted Heart but I have a while for that since it's at the end.....no pictures just yet... Definitely more stitching tonight since hubby is working....

And on another note.....next thursday will be a year that my Dad has passed and I didn't even realize it until I read my brother Duncan's blog! Great job Duncan! He put into words so amazingly the things that were knocking around in my head and couldn't find a window or a door to step out of......I only have this to say my Dad was difficult at best but he was my Dad and I do miss him and his sparkly blue Irish eyes! Even now the tears don't come.....someday maybe....

I am grateful for pajama days and memories .............
